The Artist
Rooted in a Yorkshire mining village, Shaun Gagg's artistic journey began far from conventional studio walls. His hands learned their craft through roofing slates and welding torches before they ever touched a canvas.
"Imagination meets reality, everyday materials, transformed into something that endures."
From bolts, nuts, coins, and steel pipes, Shaun conjures figures that pulse with life. Each sculpture carries thousands of individual components. and thousands of individual decisions, into a unified, irreducible presence.

CONCEPT
Every sculpture begins as a conversation, with an idea, a material, or an emotion. Shaun sketches forms in steel before a single weld is struck.
MATERIAL
Nuts, bolts, coins, pipes, industrial cast-offs are gathered and sorted. Thousands of components chosen for shape, weight, and character.
FORGE
Each piece is welded individually. A single sculpture may require 50,000+ welds, hours of focused, meditative labour in the studio forge.
FINISH
Shot blasting, galvanising, powder coating, the final surface treatment gives each work its distinctive presence and permanent durability.
